Create a 32 bit word named InstallCompleted with a value of 1No Trees visible on planet from Creature Stage onwards After completion of the initial cell stage, the player is prompted to modify their creature for life on land. Immediately after the editor is exited, a cut-scene will show depicting the species migrating onto land.

The player may skip this cutscene, but doing so may trigger a semi game-breaking bug where no trees are rendered on that save-game's planet, even after reloading the game. The only fix is to start a new save-game and to let the cut-scene play through. The fact that the game can be started from any stage and all previously created creatures are available for selection at the creation screen means this should cause little disruption.' THIS HAS BEEN SOLVED. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HELPEDHi allRecently, this game has again sparked my interest (I tend to have an on/off feeling about it), but my retail copy has become broken. I was thinking about getting the Steam release. But, I've now come to know that if I want new content, I'm gonna have to get some mods. That got me thinking; can you install mods on the steam copy?

If not, is there a different way for me to install mods on the steam version? Any help would be largely appreciated, as it would fuel my decision on buying it or not.BONUS QUESTION: What mods stack with each other? Does Dark Injection stack with everything else? Can I get Betterspore and another major content addition mod?. OH GOD YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE HOW LUCKY YOU ARE FOR DECIDING TO ASKSteam Spore is an unmoddable mess. EA customer support or whatever can probably convert your retail keys to Origin ones, and, ironically, Origin Spore has no issues with mods.

There is a trick to convert a Steam key to an Origin one, but it doesn't work reliably, so if EA customer support rejects you on the matter (less likely than it sounds), you might be able to save yourself a few $/€/£/whatever currency you'd be paying in, but if you can afford to buy from Origin directly, I'd recommend that as a safer path. Now, on to your bonus question.Dark Injection works well with BetterSpore, though the BetterSpore parts are actually included in DI, so that package is redundant. The real problem lies in getti g BetterSpore itself to work, as it was built for a rather old version of Spore, and many parts of it do not work with the current version, and that's before even considering Galactic Adventures D:However, other mods of similar size tend to clash harder than fighting bulls with cymbals for horns. DI 9 plays fairly well with mods of this size for the most part, and I've been hard at work to ensure that 9.r will work properly alongside as many other mods as possible:D.
